Okay Crawfish, I'm back to regular blogging now!Our baby squid was born on July 18th (see photo below, ain't he precious?!) and we are home and doing well. We named him Jacob/Jake and he was 19 inches, weighing 7 lbs. 1 ounce. It's a good thing we did a c-section because the cord was wrapped around his neck and he was wedged into my uterus such that he would not have survived a normal delivery. (Same with my first.)
Let's keep our country from turning to socialized medicine so we can keep access to decent medical care!)We had a few scares, seeming to spend every day at the hospital since the 18th to either check Jake's bilirubin levels or to see whether I had a blood clot traveling to my heart to kill me. (Any of you ever have a CAT scan, being injected with that radioactive dye? Fun! Especially when the doctor told me that sometimes the quick burst of dye ruptures some people's veins... not often, just like once a month or so. That was comforting, ha ha.)
Anyway, I just had some fluid in my lungs and Jake and I are just fine now.
He's actually a pretty good sleeper, so I hope to catch up on everyone's blogs!
See ya 'round,
Squiddy
